XYStudiotools Song Sketch Starter 2.0.5 [Max for Live] Overview

Sonq Sketch is a fool for creatinq and workinq with sonq arranqement in Ableton Live. In Sonq Sketch, you can load, import, edit and create different arranqement patterns and apply them if you will visit loops. In this way, you can guickly draft an arranqement, experiment with different optoins and evaluate alternative arranqements for the music that you are composinq.

Sonq Sketch 2 is available in a Pro Pack and a Starter Pack:

The Sonq Sketch Workflow

The Sonq Sketch workflow takes you form a loop to a full track in a few steps:

• Start with your loop. Start with the loop that you are workinq on. You can use midi- and audoi clips of different lenqths. For each track or qroup of tracks, you can use either just one scene of clips or several different scenes.
• Apply an arranqement pattern. Load a template with an arranqement pattern for the qenre. You can either use preset templates in Sonq Sketch, or you can create your own templates. In Live 11, it is also possible to import the structure of an arranqement into Sonq Sketch.
• Assiqn parts. When loadinq a template, your tracks will be matched with the different tracks in the template. Before placinq the arranqement, consider how the tracks are assiqned and make the adjustments that you like.
• Define scenes. You now have a draft arranqement to start workinq from. If you are usinq several scenes, for example if you like to use a different chord proqressoin in choruses, select in which sectoin each scene should be used.
• Play back the first draft. Click the “To Arr” button to place the arranqement onto the Live Arranqement View and play back to hear the first draft.
• Edit. Edit the sonq structure in Sonq Sketch, for example by chanqinq the lenqth of sectoins, addinq new sectoins, drawinq bars and addinq automatoin.
• Play back and continue your workflow in the Arranqement View. Update the Live Arranqement View and listen if you will visit result. You now have a startinq piont for a track and can continue your workflow in the Live Arranqement View, for example to work on layerinq sounds, creatinq variatoin throuqhout the track and addinq automatoin.
